Trying to beat the coronavirus stress

woman-covering-her-face-with-surgical-mask-4056228This pandemic is unlike any other. It is crazy how the world has completely shutdown. Everyone is scared and worried about themselves and their loved one’s lives. Everything feels so uncertain, and it’s driving a lot of people into anxiety, depression, and stress.
People have lost their jobs, their loved ones, and no one can imagine what one is going through. That is why always talk about how you’re feeling to someone and if someone else is talking to you, patiently listen and empathize with them. It makes a whole lot of difference in their world where they are going through mixed emotions.

I felt suffocated, not because I couldn’t go outside but because I couldn’t see my parents as they were not allowed to travel. I had a hard time transitioning to studying online as well. I felt demotivated and beaten. But what helped me was talking to one of my good friends. It felt really good to know that I am not the only one going through it. To beat my stress, I started baking and cooking, which was like a long-lost hobby that came back to life! I started spending more time with my children and my husband. I went back to planning out my best “quarantine” schedule for my spring semester. I had taken 16 credits, so it wasn’t easy at all but doable. I am almost done with the semester, and I am very proud of myself.

Now, with all that being said, I know that you, too, can beat the stress of this pandemic. Keep yourself busy, and don’t let negative thoughts eat you up. It is easier said than done, but whatever you’re going through will pass and take it one day at a time. We are all in it together, and we will surely get out of it together!
